PE – Curriculum information

At Mallard Primary School, our PE curriculum is wide-ranging and our long-term plans ensure we meet the requirements of the national curriculum. All pupils receive two hours of high quality teaching using the vast outdoor space and using our facilities inside of the school too. All children have a session of PE with their class teacher, as well as having a PE session with a qualified coach. The children receive expert coaching to develop fundamental skills through a varied and rich curriculum.

Our curriculum is developed precisely to ensure the progression of knowledge and skills. We provide opportunities for children to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. We are passionate about positive mind-set and the resilience to persevere with activities. We want all children to be able to co-operate and collaborate with others, as part of a team, understanding fairness and equality of play to enable life-long values. Our curriculum incorporates a variety of sports to ensure all children develop the appreciated of their own and others’ strengths and weaknesses.
